Anatoliy Nesteretz wins September Lviv Tradition 2015

The September Lviv Tradition (IM Group) round-robin tournament was taking place from September 28 to October 4, 2015, at the Hotel Nton, in the splendid city of Lviv, situated in western Ukraine.

The event was a 12-player single round-robin tournament with an average Elo 2257, valid for FIDE rating and norms. The tempo of play is 90′ + 30″.

Sergey Karjakin is the 2015 FIDE World Cup winner!

Sergey Karjakin and Peter Svidler returned today to the playing hall at the Fairmont Flame Towers in Baku to finally decide the FIDE World Cup winner in quick-play tie-breaks. After the games with the classical time control the result was even 2-2.

USA’s youngest GM Sam Sevian will play in Rilton Cup

UntitledSam Sevian, 14 years old, has agreed to play in 45th Rilton Cup Chess Festival in Stockholm, Sweden December 27–January 5. USA:s youngest GM has a clear goal in the tournament – to play for the top spots.

Georgian Club Championship 2015 LIVE!

The 2015 Georgian Club Chess Championship is taking place from October 5-11, in the town of Ureki, Georgia.

The event is a team championship with an average rating of 2317 Elo.

8 teams will be vying in round-robin format. Top seed is “Rustavi” Kvemo Kartli, led by GM Tamaz Gelashvili (2570).

The 2015 Croatian Men’s Team Chess Championship is taking place from October 3 – 11, in Bol, at the Croatian island of Brac.

1st European Universities Chess Championship LIVE!

The 1st European Universities Chess Championship is taking place from October 6-11, 2015, in Yerevan, Armenia.

The event is a rapid tournament with tempo of play 25′ + 10″.

A total of 18 European universities from 9 different countries have registered.

Isle of Man International – Round 2 Video

The 2nd Isle of Man International Chess tournament started with 104 chess players from 27 countries and with as many as 37 Grandmasters in the field. GM Michael Adams is the top seed followed by India’s 2nd highest player Pentala Harikrishna.

Sergey Karjakin evens the score in FIDE World Cup final

Sergey Karjakin has staged a miraculous comeback by equalizing the score in the 2015 FIDE World Cup final after being 0-2 down in the first two games.

Karjakin won the next two games against the former World Cup winner and his compatriot Peter Svidler to tie the match with the classical time control and reach the rapid tie-breaks.

1st Thailand Open Rapid Chess Championship 2015

The first ever Thailand Open Rapid Chess Championship took place from 3-4 October 2015 in Nakhon Sawan, which is both the capital and also the central province best known as the meeting place of four major rivers including the mighty Chao Phraya, and is a pleasant and comfortable three hour drive north from Bangkok.
