The 23rd Annual North American Open will be held at Bally’s Casino Resort, 3645 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event has 7 sections: Open, Under 2300, Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500 and Under 1250.
The Open Section will be a 9-round event held over 5-days (December 26-30). FIDE title norms are possible. Last year winner was GM Timur Gareev.
The U2300-U1250 sections are 7-round events with 4-day (December 26-29) or 3-day (December 27-29) schedules to play in.
Top 6 sections entry fee: 5-day $280, 4-day $279, 3-day $278 mailed by 12/15, $275 online by 12/20, $300 online until two hours before round 1, $280 phoned to 406-896-2038 by 12/20 (no questions), $300 at site. Open Section EF $100 more to US players not USCF or FIDE rated 2200/over.
Under 1250 Section entry fee: All $120 less than above.
Seniors 65/over in U1500/above: All $120 less than above.

The event has a $120,000 prize fund, based on 600 entries, with $90,000 minimum guaranteed.
Open Section: $10000- 5000-2500-1200-1000-800-700-600-500-500, clear winner or 1st on tiebreak bonus $300, top FIDE Under 2500/Unr $2500-1200. FIDE.
Under 2300: $7000-4000-2000-1200-900-700- 600- 500-400-400. FIDE.
Under 2100: $7000-4000-2000-1200-900-700-600-500-400-400, no unrated may win over $2500.
Under 1900: $7000-4000-2000-1200-900-700-600-500-400-400, no unrated may win over $1800.
Under 1700: $6000-3000-1500-1000-800-700-600-500-400-400, no unrated may win over $1300.
Under 1500: $6000-3000-1500-1000-800-700-600-500-400-400, no unrated may win over $900.
Under 1250: $3000-1500-1000-800-600-500-400-400-300-300, top Under 1000 (no unr) $1000-500, no unrated may win over $500. No separate U1000 section; players under 1000 in U1250 play for both U1250 and U1000 prizes; receive larger if winning both.
The North American Blitz will take place on 29th December as a 5 double rounds Swiss (10 games) in two sections.
Open Section: $400-200-150, top Under 2300/Unr $240-120, Under 2100 $220-110.
Under 1900 Section: $300-150-100, Under 1700 $180-100, Under 1500 $150, Under 1300 $80.
