Estonian Sports Association Kalev in cooperation with the Estonian Chess Federation and Association of Chess Professionals is organizing the 25th Keres Memorial – ACP Open on 7-10th January 2016, at the conference halls of the Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel in Tallinn, Estonia.
The event is dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of chess grandmaster Paul Keres who was elected the Estonian Sportsman of the 20th Century.
The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Estonia, the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, the Council of the Gambling Tax, the City of Tallinn and sponsors are supporting the event.
The competition celebrates the birth anniversary of one of the greatest chess players of all time. Paul Keres was member of ESA Kalev and always represented sportsclub in all his matches. ESA Kalev is the oldest and biggest sports organization in Estonia, which was founded in 1901. ESA Kalev as main organizer is keeping the memory of Paul Keres alive through this tournament. The competition belongs to the ACP 2016 Tour.
The tournament will be organized in 11-round Swiss system, in accordance with the FIDE Laws of Chess. The rate of play will be 15 minutes for the entire game with an increment of 10 seconds starting from move one. No zero tolerance will be used. Organizers reserve the right to check the players in accordance with FIDE Anti-cheating guidelines.
The competition is open to all players who have registered by December 20, 2015, at the latest, and have paid the participation fee to the bank account of Estonian Sports Society Kalev by that date.
Entry fees:
Unrated players – 50 euros;
Rating less than 1799 – 40 euros;
1800 – 1999 – 30 euros;
2000 – 2199 – 25 euros;
2200 – 2399 – 20 euros;
2400 – 2549 – 10 euros;
GM/WGM – free
There is a discount of 20% for women, seniors (born 1956 or earlier) and youth players (born 1998 or later). Estonian players have an additional discount of 10%. The discounts will apply if the players registering on time. The participation fee is based on the FIDE rapid rating (if a player does not have the rapid rating, FIDE standard rating will be used).
Prize fund:
All players will compete for the general prize fund of 10,000 euros, additionally there will be a special prize fund of 5000 euros for the ACP Premium members. The total prize fund of the competition will be 15,000 euros.

Special conditions for Grandmasters:
The official hotel of the competition will be the Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel Tallinn (http://www.parkinn.com/hotel-meriton-tallinn). There will be a limited number of a three-days accommodations provided free for Grandmasters according to their ratings, geographical diversity and registration time.
