The 7th Masters Final is taking place on 14-21st September 2014 in Bilbao, a city in Spain, capital of the province of Biscay in the autonomous community of the Basque Country.
Levon Aronian (World #2, World Team Champion with the team of Armenia), Viswanathan Anand (Five-time world champion, currently ranked World #5), Ruslan Ponomariov (the youngest World champion in history at 18) and Francisco Vallejo Pons (Spanish champion, ranked World #38) are playing in a double round-robin format.
World #1 and current World Champion Magnus Carlsen (also twice winner of the Masters Final) refused to play this year in order to prepare well for the World Championship rematch against Anand.
