The Tata Steel Challengers 2023 concluded yesterday in Wijk aan Zee with Alexander Donchenko lifting the Winner trophy and earning a starting ticket for the Masters of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in 2024.
Alexander Donchenko won the Challengers event with a round to spare. With a last-round victory over Velimir Ivic, Donchenko kept the sole first place with 10/13 points.
Mustafa Yilmaz trailed by a whole point, and claimed second place scoring 9/13 points. Javokhir Sindarov came third with 8.5 points.
