GM Vaibhav Suri convincing in the 6th qualifier of FIDE World Online Junior Blitz

1st FIDE World Online Junior Blitz Championship 2015Vaibhav Suri from India, a Grandmaster since the age of 15, convincingly won the 6th Qualifier tournament of the FIDE World Online Blitz Championship 2015 that was held on 2nd July on the official FIDE Online platform.

The playing format was 11-round Swiss with the time control 3′+2”. In the field of 32 players Vaibhav concluded the tournament with 10,5/11 points.

IM Deac Bogdan-Daniel from Romania is second with 9,5 points, while Italian IM Nicola Altini finished third with 9,0 points.

Also qualified for the Championship semifinal are Yousuf Azeem Makhdoomi Yousuf (Pakistan), Ioanis Lentzos (Greece), Vincenzo Angelo Lombardi, Graziano Matteo Zinnai (both Italy) and Flor de María Zárate Oyague (Peru). Full standings below.

The 1st FIDE World Online Junior Blitz Championship 2015 is currently ongoing on the official FIDE Online platform.

The first stage of the Championship will be completed over eight (8) qualifier tournaments, followed by a semifinal with 64 players, and a final tournament with 16 players.

The winner of the final tournament will be awarded with the prestigious title of FIDE World Online Junior Blitz Champion.

A rich prize fund of 4250 USD will be awarded in the final tournament.
