The International Rapid Chess Tournament “Paul Keres Memorial” 2015 is taking place on 9-11th January 2015 at the Sokos Hotel Viru, in Tallinn, the capital and largest city of Estonia.
The chess festival is held in two stages and in addition will be held the blitz tournament.
The first stage is the preliminary event, which is a 7-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 15′ + 5″, and it’s followed by the main tournament – 9-round Rapid chess with time control 15′ + 10″. At the end the blitz tournament will be held in 11 rounds with tempo of play 3′ + 2″.
109 players from 9 different countries take part in the festival, including 7 GMs, 10 IMs and 5 FMs.
Top seed is Spaniard GM Oleg Korneev (2589).
