The 21st edition of the IPCA World Individual Chess Championship 2022 kicks off tomorrow in Ashdod, Israel. The championship will be held in Hotel “Leonardo” from 8-17 May.

The physically disabled chess players – men, women and juniors (2002 year of birth and younger) will compete in the 9 rounds swiss tournament, with time control: 90 minutes + 30 seconds of increment. The total prize fund of the event is 5.500e and the winner among men, women, and players in wheelchairs will obtain the right to participate in the IPCA team at the FIDE World Chess Olympiad 2022.
