The Peruvian Open and Women’s National Chess Championships 2022 will take place from 17-22 May in Lima.

The Open event attracted 47 entries who will compete for the National Champion title in 9 swiss rounds, with time control: 90 minutes + 30 seconds of an increment per each move. The battlefield is led by GM Cristhian Cruz, GM Kevin Joel Cori Quispe and IM Renato Terry. (scroll down for the starting rank list)
The Women’s event will have 10 players competing in 9 round robin rounds and the top seeds are WIM Ingrid Aliaga Fernandez, WFM Paula Elizabeth Paredes Bustamante and WIM Mitzy Mishell Caballero Quijano. The time control will be 90 minutes + 30 seconds of an increment per each move. (scroll down for the starting rank list)
The total prize fund of the events will be more than 15.000 sol (around 4.000 euros) and the top two players of each section will secure their spots in the Peruvian National Teams for the upcoming 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 in Chennai. If two or more players tie for the top in both Open and Women’s events, the Winners will be determined in playoffs.
