The Estonian Chess Championship 2022 took place from 10-18 December in Tallinn. The Open tournament was played as a 10-player round-robin, and the Women’s Championship was played as a 5-player round-robin event.
GM Aleksandr Volodin clinched the Estonian Open Chess Championship 2022 scoring unbeaten 7/9 points. Andrei Timoshin and GM Kaido Kulaots trailed by half a point tying for second place. Tiebreak criteria favored Andrei Timoshin who won silver and Kaido Kulaots came third.
WFM Anastassia Sinitsina won the Estonian Women’s Chess Championship with score of 3.5 points. WFM Sofia Blokhin came second with 2.5 points and Marina Levchenko came third with 2 points. Scroll down for final rankings of both events
