Evgeny Sveshnikov and Natalia Ruchieva won the Russian Seniors

The 2015 Russian Seniors Championships were held from 6-15th April in Lesnoy Gorodok, Moscow Region.

Grandmaster Evgeny Sveshnikov won the men’s event with 7,0/9 points. IM Vladimir Zhelnin took the silver, outscoring GM Yury Balashov and IM Evgeny Kalegin on tie-break.

30 players competed in the event, including 7 Grandmasters.

1st Blau Open Calvia 2015 LIVE!

The 1st International Blau Open Calvià is taking place from 11-19th April, 2015, in Palmanova/Magaluf (one of the most important tourist center of Mallorca, Spain).

The event is organized by Chess Club Blau Escacs Calvià in collaboration with City Council Calvià and Balearic Chess Federation in a 9-round Swiss format.

65 players from 15 different countries compete for the prize fund in total of 6,000 €.

Top seed is Spanish IM Sergio Cacho Reigadas (2519).

Eastern Class Championships 2015

The 24th Annual Eastern Class Championships will be held from April 24-26, 2015, at the Host Hotel at Cedar Lake, 366 Main St, Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

The event has 7 sections: Master, Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D and Class E. All sections have either 3-day (April 24-26) or 2-day (April 25-26) schedules to play in.

The playing format is 5-round Swiss with the time control 40/110, SD/30, d10.
