The Chess Insider March magazine in PDF and PGN has issued the 4th edition of the magazine.

The 4th HDBank Cup International Open Chess Tournament 2014 is taking place on 10-15th March in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The 9-round Swiss open will offer $35,000 in prizes. The winner will earn $12,000 and the top woman will claim $3,000.

The world’s strongest computer championship TCEC continues with Stage 1c. After 6 rounds it has a surprising leader. The 2900 club engine Protector 1.6 (2928) is leading the pack with 5,5/6. It has five victories and a draw vs last season’s champion Komodo.

The 23rd Annual Eastern Class Championships will be held from March 14-16, 2014, at the Host Hotel at Cedar Lake, 366 Main St, Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

The event has 7 sections: Master, Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D and Class E.

All sections have either 3-day (March 14-16) or 2-day (March 15-16) schedules to play in.

The event has a $20,000 prize fund, based on 240 entries, with $16,000 minimum guaranteed.

The HD Bank Cup 2014 chess tournament is going to take place March 10-15 in Vietnam. A total of 80 players are participating, top seeded is the 2700 club member GM Le Quang Liem. Mulitple international players are there including GM NI Hua (China), Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son (Vietnam), GM Zhang Zhong (Singapore), GM Lu Shanglei (China), GM Gomez John Paul (Philippines), GM Shyam Sundar M. (India), etc.

All games will be broadcast on Chessdom with triple engine analysis by Komodo, Stockfish, and Houdini, the strongest engines of TCEC

The 2014 UT Dallas Spring FIDE Open, underwritten by Turner Construction, is taking place from 8th to 13th March at The Embassy Suites – Park Central in Dallas, USA.
