Fethi Apaydın is the new President of Turkish Chess Federation

The 6th General Assembly of the Turkish Chess Federation (TCF) was held on Wednesday, October 9, at Ankara Green Park Hotel. Gülkız Tulay, who was elected as the TCF president on November 5, 2012 and served Turkish chess for 12 years, handed over the presidency to Fethi Apaydın. Fethi Apaydın was the only candidate for the Presidency at the General Assembly, who received 135 of 149 votes, became Turkish Chess Federation President.

The second leg of the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix Series 2024-2025 is set to take place in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, from October 29 to November 9, 2024, with an exciting line-up of some of the strongest female chess players in the world who will face off in a 9-round round-robin tournament.
