Tiniest of engines produce a 3000 ELO+ show at TCEC 4k

The Top Chess Engine Championship (TCEC) is the place to see the giants of modern chess – Stockfish, Leela, Berserk, KomodoDragon, Ethereal, Rubichess, etc. It is the battleground for the strongest to prove their everlasting advance to perfection.

From time to time TCEC treats us with side events. Currently ongoing is one of the most amazing such bonuses – the TCEC 4k competition. The key: all participating engines are limited to to a maximum of 4KiB (4096 bytes)

EU Youth Championships 2024 – winners

The 22nd edition of the European Union Youth Chess Championship U8-U14 took place from 4th-13th August 2024 in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, Czech Republic. The event was organized by the Czech Chess Federation under the auspices of the European Chess Union. The gold medal winners are:

Stanley Badacsonyi passes 2300 FIDE live rating and is FM at 14 years and 11 months old

Stanley Badacsonyi can now claim the FM title after passing 2300 FIDE live rating. At only 14 years and 11 months old Badacsonyi is a FIDE Master, after a solid performance at the ongoing III Kingston Invitational. So far the young talent is at 5,5/7 at the 9 rounds Swiss event.

Abu Dhabi Chess 2024 LIVE

The 30th edition of the Abu Dhabi Chess Festival is going to take place 15-24 August in Abu Dhabi. The masters tournament boasts a strong field, including Amin Tabatabaei, Chithambaram Aravindh, Alexandr Predke, Javokhir Sindarov, David Anton, Bassem Amin, Nodirbek Yakubboev, Raunak Sadhwani, Saleh Salem, S L Narayanan, Abhimanyu Puranik, Vasyl Ivanchuk, Shamsiddin Vokhidov, Volodar Murzin, Leon Luke Mendonca, Nikolas Theodorou, Bardiya Daneshvar, Mukhiddin Madaminov, etc. for a total of 217 participants.

The Hans Niemann – Anish Giri match is part of the Hans Niemann vs the World series. It is Rapid is a 6-round match between GMs Hans Moke Niemann and Anish Giri, held on the 11th of August in Utrecht, Netherlands.

FIDE World Chess Championship 2024 is in Singapore

The FIDE World Chess Championship 2024 will be a 14 games match between the reigning world champion Ding Liren and the challenger Gukesh D to determine the World Chess Champion. The match is scheduled to take place between November 23 and December 15, 2024, with Singapore hosting the match.
