The President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov and the Vice-President of the Armenian Chess Federation Smbat Lputian in the presence of the President of Armenia and head of the Armenian Chess Federation Serzh Sargsyan signed an agreement on cooperation in promoting chess in schools and development of cooperation within the sphere of chess tournaments for schools, called “White Castle”.

The 2014 Chess World Cup Zonal 3.5 took place from 26th October to 5th November 2014 in Zhongshan, China.

Concurrently with the FIDE World Championship Match between Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand, the Russian Chess Federation will hold Mikhail Tal Memorial on 13-14th November in Sochi.

Mikhail Tal Memorial will be a 12-player double round robin tournament with the time control 4′+2”.

On November 9, within the framework of the International Tashir Chess Tournament in memory of Tigran Petrosian a special session of simultaneous game “World Grandmasters for the children” will be held
