Board medalists from the FIDE World Rapid Teams 2025

FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team 2025 participants, one of the Major events in The Chess Calendar for the month of June, featured 104 Grandmasters (including 5 from the World top 10 – Hikaru Nakamura, Arjun Erigaisi, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Alireza Firouzja, Ian Nepomniachtchi) 63 IMs, and a total of 316 titled players.

Belt and Road Chess – events in Bengbu and Aksu

Belt and Road Chess is a series of tournaments by the Chinese Chess Association with solid prize fund and expected strong participation.

2025 “Belt and Road” China International Chess Open in Bengbu, Anhui takes place August 12-18.

2025 “Belt and Road” China International Chess Open in Aksu, Xinjiang is scheduled for August 19-25.

Ian Nepomniachtchi was on the team roaster for WR Chess for the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team 2025. A few days before the start of the event, Nepo was declined entry visa for the UK and missed the rapid event, won by MGD1.
