The Dutch Women’s Chess Championship 2022 takes place from 22-28 December 2022 in Groningen. The event is simultaneously held with the Dutch Open Chess Championship 2022. It is a 6-player round-robin tournament with time control of 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

The Israeli 41^st Chess Championship and the 34^th Women national championship were held on December 5-13 in the southern city of Arad with a prize fund of 110 thousands NIS. Arad (not to confuse with the Romanian city Arad) is located on the border of the Negev and the Judean Deserts, 25 kilometers (16 miles) west of the Dead Sea and 45 kilometers (28 miles) east of the city of Beer Sheba.

The 2022 Chessable Sunway Sitges Chess Festival is taking place from 11-22 December and features two tournaments: Open A and Open B, with the total prize fund of 27.155eur. GM Yu Yangyi is top-seeded at the A tournament, and the field includes GM Hans Niemann, GM Jorden van Foreest, GM Ivan Cheparinov, GM Jules Moussard, GM Andrey Esipenko and a total of 43 grandmasters.

The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves then 30 minutes until the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. The A Group is a 9-round Swiss Open with participation of Pranav Anand, Hagen Poetsch, Nico Zwirs, Stefan Macak, Nick Maatman, Valentin Buckels, Rick Lahaye, Tim Grutter, Migchiel De Jong, etc.
