The Russian Team Championships in classical chess among men, women, seniors, youth (boys and girls under 15), boys (under 11), and girls (under 11) are scheduled to take place from April 30 – May 11, 2018, in Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina, Sochi.

All events are 9-round Swiss with one rest day.

European Chess Union (ECU) and Romanian Chess Federation have the honour to invite all European Chess Federations affiliated to ECU to participate in the 18th European Youth Rapid & Blitz U-8,10,12,14,16,18 Championship which will be held from 31st July to 5th August 2018 in the city of Oradea, Romania.

Georgia Chess Championship for women will be held from 16 to 25 February in Tbilisi.
It will be 10 players round-robin tournament.
The top seeded players are IM Nino Batsiashvili, GM Bela Khotenashvili, IM Lela Javakhishvili etc…

Arab Interclub 2017 Teams Championship was held from 6 to 13 February in Sharjah Chess Club.
9 teams took part in the tournament.
Sharjah Chess And Cultural Club were the winners with better tie-break from the second team ASSN.

38th National Team Chess Championship of India was held from 8 to 14 February in Odisha, India.

Georgia U7 – U13 championships were held from 06 to 14 February in Tbilisi,Georgia.

Magnus Carlsen is the new unofficial Fischer Random world champion after beating Hikaru Nakamura 14-10.

Esoft Arena FIDE Rating Chess Tournament Below-2000 is held from 14 to 22 February in Purana Paltan Dhaka, Bangladesh .
Time control is 90 minutes with 30 second increment from move 1.
133 players are taking part in the tournament.
