The European University Sports Association (EUSA) recognized chess as an official sport and included it in the European Univers

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met the football king Pele at the exhibition “Pele. Art. Life. Football”, which was opened in London.

Russia Today TV Channel asked the FIDE President to interview Pele. Mr Ilyumzhinov asked Pele on his attitude to chess. Pele replied that he loves and respects chess, but does not play well.

Ilyumzhinov and Pele agreed to arrange a chess lesson in London on Thursday this week.

The 12th Malaysian Chess Festival 2015 is now well underway with the flagship 12th IGB Malaysian International Open Championship having gone the past the third round.

The four pairs of players who tied their round four matches with the classical time control returned to the playing hall at the Fairmont Flame Towers in Baku to settle the scores in the rapid and blitz games.

The lecturer was IA Stephen Boyd (FRA), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Laurent Freyd (FRA).

The lectures were in French language.

From 11th to 13th September 2015 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Preston, England, by the UK Chess Arbiters’ Association, in association with the English Chess Federation and the Chess Scotland and under the auspices of FIDE.
