The 42nd Greek Team Chess Championship 2014 is taking place from 28th June to 3rd July, 2014, at the Porto Rio Hotel, situated near Patras, a historical city in northern Peloponnese, Greece.

32 teams will by vying in a 7 round Swiss format.

Lopota FIDE Women’s Grand Prix – Round 8

The 5th tournament of the FIDE Women’s Grand-Prix 2013-2014 is taking place from 18th June to 2nd July in Lopota, Georgia.

Twelve players compete in the round robin tournament. The event is organized by the Georgian Ministry of Sport and Youth, FIDE and Georgian Chess Federation, and sponsored by SOCAR.

2nd Jaen Chess Festival LIVE!

The 2nd Jaen Chess Festival is taking place from 28th June to 2nd July, 2014 in the Andalusian city of Jaen, Spain.

The event is a 9 round Swiss with a total of 64 players from 5 different countries, including 4 GMs 7 IMs and 3 FMs.

Top seed is Bulgarian GM Alexander Delchev, winner of the 5th International Chess Festival Forni di Sopra 2014.

2014 European School Chess Champions

The European School Chess Championships 2014 were held from 13th to 27th June, 2014 in the beautiful city of Kavala, situated on the Bay of Kavala in the northern Greece.

The event was open to school chess champions in categories OPEN U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17/ GIRLS U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17. The format of every Section was a 9 round Swiss, except Girls U17 Group, where 11 players competed in a round-robin tournament.
