The 58th Biel International Chess Festival began today in Biel with the rapid chess discipline of the Grandmaster Triathlon (GMT). As expected, the two favorites Vladimir Fedoseev and Aravindh Chithambaram have taken an early lead in the Masters tournament, showing dominance across five games. Meanwhile, Radoslaw Wojtaszek, the 2020 Biel winner, trails closely behind.

FIDE Women World Chess Cup 2025 is taking place July 5 – July 29 in Batumi, Georgia, and is one of the major events of The Chess Calendar. A total of 107 participants (increased from the initially announced 103 participants) will compete for 691 000 eur prize fund.

The Serbia Open 2025 is taking place July 14 – July 123 in Be;grade, Serbia. It is 9 round Swiss system tournament with time control 90 min / 40 moves + 30 min + 30 sec / move. The Serbia Open 2025 is taking place July 14 – July 23 in Belgrade, Serbia. It is 9 round Swiss system tournament with time control 90 min / 40 moves + 30 min + 30 sec / move.
