French Top 16 LIVE

The French Club Chess Championship Top 16 aka Championnat de France d’échecs des clubs takes place May 22 – June 1, 2025 in Belfort, France. In Top 16, the top sixteen teams in France compete in teams of eight players and players during these eleven days. The teams are divided into two groups of 8. In each group, they clash with each other in seven rounds. At the end of this phase, the first four of each group progress to the elimination phase. See the pairings below.

16th Late Bharatbai Halkude Memorial Open Chess Tournament is going to take place May 21 in Pune, India. It is a blitz tournament with 467 players, including IM Neelash Saha, IM Kashish Jain, FM Suyog Wagh, IM Aaryan Varshney, FM Nikhil Dixit, FM Aakash Dalvi, FM Akshay Borgaonkar, FM Vaibhav Raut.

The 2025 edition of Svetozar Gligoric Cup takes place May 22-25 in Paracin. It is a team event with Open and Women section with top players GM Robert Markus, GM Ivan Ivanisevic, GM Mikhail Bryakin, GM Aleksandar Kovacevic, GM Suat Atalik, GM Branko Tadic, GM Branko Damljanovic, IM Ivan Sarenac, WGM Ekaterina Goltseva, WIM Adela Velikic, WIM Jovana Srdanovic, WFM Vera Vujovic, WFM Andjela Bojicic, etc.

Shrook Wafa is Africa Women Chess Champion 2025

WGM Shrook Wafa achieved her fifth continental title at the Africa Women Chess Champion 2025. She finished 8,0/9 ahead of WIM Lina Nassr. Bilel Bellahcene is African Chess Champion 2025

Algerian Grandmaster Bilel Bellahcene is the continental champion of Africa for 2025. Bilel Bellahcene achieved 7,0/9, the same points as Ahmed Adly and Amin Bassem, but with a better tiebreak (average rating of opponents) won the gold medal.

18 year old IM Hamed Wafa finished clear fourth with 6,5/9 and is the top youngster of the event.

TePe Sigeman 2025 LIVE

The 30th edition of the TePe Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament is scheduled to take place from May 20 to May 26, 2025, at the Elite Plaza Hotel in Malmö, Sweden. Organized by the Limhamn Chess Club, this annual event has been held since 1993, with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic.

Oskemen Open will have Masters, Challengers, and Open section. The Masters tournament is open to players of elo 2400+. GMs of elo 2700+ receive flight reimbursement as extra bonus.
