The 2025 edition of the XTX Markets London Chess Classic will be remembered as the breakthrough moment for Uzbekistan’s rising star, Nodirbek Abdusattorov. The 21-year-old grandmaster delivered a dominating performance, finishing clear first with 7.5/9 and a performance rating of 2932. By Round 8, his two-point lead over closest rival Alireza Firouzja meant a draw with him was enough – and that’s exactly what happened. That result sealed the title for Abdusattorov with a round to spare.

The XTX Markets London Chess Classic (LCC) returns to the capital between 26th November and 7th December 2025.
