The 9th edition of the European Small Nations Team Chess Championship starts this week in Larnaca, Cyprus, and will be held from 14th-23rd November in the Sun Hall Hotel.

The event gathers 10 teams from Andorra, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Guernsey, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco and San Marino, and each team consists of four players + one reserve player.

In a bizarre coincidence of 11s, Magnus Carlsen is the winner of the 11th Titled Tuesdays with 11/11 on 11.11.2025. Carlsen started with a win against FM Efe Metehan Yavuz and went on to complete 11 victories, including ones against Hans Niemann, Alireza Firouzja, and Oleksandr Bortnyk.

This 11/11 win comes just months after the Grenke 9,0/9 by Carlsen, where he set a new performance record

The FIDE World Chess Cup 2025 is taking place October 30 – November 27 in India. It will feature 206 players in 8 knockout rounds of classical games. The World Cup serves as a critical part of the FIDE World Championship cycle, with the top three finishers qualifying for the 2026 Candidates Tournament, which determines the next challenger for the World Chess Championship title.
