The European Chess Club Cup 2025 will be held in Rhodes, Greece, from 18 to 26 October 2025, at the Rodos Palace Conference Hall. Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura, the world’s number-two ranked chess player, continues his quest for the 2026 Candidates Chess Tournament by participating in yet another tournament. This time Nakamura appeared in Canada, where he added 6 more games to his game tally.

Just one round remains at the European Team Chess Championship 2025. Ukraine and Azerbaijan lead the open section with 13 MP, while Poland is sole leader of the women section with 14 MP.

Understanding the Tournament Format

Arseniy Nesterov and Anna Shukhman won the open and women titles in the Russian Chess Championship 2025. The event was held in the Mikhail Botvinnik chess club in Moscow, with each of the competitions being a 12 player round robin.

Anna Shukhman’s achievement is especially impressive, as she conquered the title at 16 years and 6 months old.

Arseniy Nesterov and Anna Shukhman were presented with certificates for LADA cars from the official automobile partner of the Superfinals, AvtoVAZ JSC.
