Zadar Open 2014 is taking place on 14-20th December 2014 at the Falkensteiner Hotels & Resorts Borik, in Zadar, a city in Croatia, situated on the Adriatic Sea.

The event is a 9-round Swiss FIDE tournament open to all players rated over 2200.

The 15th European Senior Chess Championship for Men and Women will be held in Eretria, Greece, from 28th April to 8th May, 2015.

The tournament venue is the conference center of the 4-star “Eretria Village” Hotel, near the ancient city of Eretria.

The Championship is open to all players representing ECU Chess Federations who have been born in the year 1965 or earlier. There is also no limit in the number of participants per federation.

From 25 to 28 November 2014 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Yaoundé, Cameroon, by the Cameroon Chess federation, in cooperation with the African Chess Union and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Hotel Azur, in Yaoundé.

The lecturer was IA Stephen Boyd (FRA), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was FA Pierre Makem (CMR).

The lectures were in French language.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 21 to 25 October 2015 in Dresden, Germany, by the FIDE Disabled Commission, in cooperation with the ZMDI Schachfestival Dresden and under the auspices of FIDE.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 31 January to 5 February 2015 in Moscow, Russia, by the Russian Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

From 11 to 13 November 2014 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in New Delhi, India, by the Delhi Chess Association, in cooperation with the All India Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

Zadar Chess Union is holding the 2014 Zadar Open from 14-20th December at the Falkensteiner Hotels & Resorts Borik in Zadar, Croatia.

The event consists of two sections, Group A for players rated above 2200 FIDE and Group B for U2300 players. Both sections will be completed over nine rounds of Swiss system.

Top prizes in Group A are EUR 2200 / 1400 / 900 / 700 / 600 / 500 etc

The best placed Croatian player qualifies for the national championship.

The 17th International Chess Festival “Citta di Padova” is taking place on 14-21st December 2014 in Padova, Italy.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament open to all players rated above 1800 FIDE Elo.

Top seed is last-year’s winner GM Kiril Georgiev (Bulgaria) 2627.

Abierto Legislatura 2014 “Copa Norberto La Porta” takes place on 13-21st December at the Salon Dorado de la Legislatura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires – Peru 160 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The 66th Montenegro Individual Men’s Chess Championship is taking place on 10-20th December 2014 in Podgorica as a part of “December Days of Chess” in Podgorica.

The event is a 12-player round-robin tournament, held in the hall of the National Library “Radosav Ljumovic”, gathering the members of the Montenegro Olympic team, as well as the most promising players.
