The European School Chess Championships 2014 were held from 13th to 27th June, 2014 in the beautiful city of Kavala, situated on the Bay of Kavala in the northern Greece.

The event was open to school chess champions in categories OPEN U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17/ GIRLS U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17. The format of every Section was a 9 round Swiss, except Girls U17 Group, where 11 players competed in a round-robin tournament.

The 5th tournament of the FIDE Women’s Grand-Prix 2013-2014 is taking place from 18th June to 2nd July in Lopota, Georgia.

Twelve players compete in the round robin tournament. The event is organized by the Georgian Ministry of Sport and Youth, FIDE and Georgian Chess Federation, and sponsored by SOCAR.

The National Greek Chess Festival is scheduled to take place from 28th June to 10th July, 2014, at the Porto Rio Hotel, situated near Patras, a historical city in northern Peloponnese, Greece.

For a fifteen day period the Greek Chess Elite of all ages will be gathered to participate in the event. Apart from the leading Greek GMs and WGMs, some of the top foreign chess players will join the League to strengthen the Greek Chess Clubs.
