Lopota FIDE Women’s Grand Prix – Round 1

The 5th tournament of the FIDE Women’s Grand-Prix 2013-2014 is taking place from 18th June to 2nd July in Lopota, Georgia.

Twelve players compete in the round robin tournament. The event is organized by the Georgian Ministry of Sport and Youth, FIDE and Georgian Chess Federation, and sponsored by SOCAR.

The 2nd International Chess Festival Cesme Open 2014 took place from 14th to 19th June, 2014 in Cesme, a beautiful coastal Turkish city, situated 85 km west of Izmir, the largest metropolitan center in Turkey’s Aegean Region.

The 9-round Swiss Open, organized by the Turkish Chess Federation and the major sponsor Cesme Municipality, was split into two categories – Category A (Open to all participants, rated 1700 or more) Category B (Open to all player, rated below 1700).

The FIDE World Blitz Chess Championship 2014 will take place from 16th to 18st June, 2014 in Dubai, the most populous city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The event will gather 122 of the strongest chess players in the world, including the reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen.

ICCD World Deaf Team Championship

ICCD World Team Championship – Chess Olympiad is taking part from 18th to 28th June, 2014, at the Congress Center of the Grand Hotel Adriatic in the Croatian pearl Opatija.

The event is split into 3 main tournaments – Team championship for men, Team championship for women and Open tournament.

The Men championship and Open will be played in a 9-round Swiss format, while the Women Section will be in 7 rounds.

The control is 90 minutes per player plus 30 seconds increment starting from move 1.
