The Open Charity Chess Tournament Lviv Rapid Championship 2024, an event to help enlisted Lviv State University teachers and promote the Rapid game mode in the country, has concluded with the victory of Martyn Kravtsiv. He managed to score the impressive 9 wins and 1 tie for a total of 9.5 points in 10 games. Maksym Dubnevych also achieved the same amount of points, but had inferior tiebreakers and placed second.

Ghosh Aronyak is the winner in the Chess MASTERS Annemasse 2024 in France. He accrued a total of 7 points in 9 rounds, netting 5 wins and 4 ties. The same amount of points was reached by second place Venkataraman Karthik and third place Polina Shuvalova, with the three separated only by tiebreakers. Kazakhstan Men Rapid Chess Championship 2024 has concluded and Azamat Utegaliyev has emerged victorious, scoring 7.5 points in 9 rounds of play. Second place winner Kazybek Nogerbek had the same amount of points, but lesser tiebreakers. In a similar situation, third place went to Konstantin Kazakov, who accrued 6.5 points, the same as fourth place Aslan Aitbayev. The Shymkent Cup Chess Masters GM is taking place from October 26 to November 1 in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The tournament features 10 players, each of whom will face the others once in 9 rounds Robin. The Benidorm Chess Open 2024 is taking place from October 27 to November 3 in Benidorm Spain. The tournament has 72 participants who compete in 9 rounds Swiss. The top contenders in the event include Polina Shuvalova, Luis Marcos Medarde Santiago, Andres Merario Alarcon, Felix Jose Ynojosa Aponte, Iulian Sofronie and Victor Garcia Fernandez. TAJFUN SK Ljubljana emerged as the sole Winner of the 28th European Women’s Chess Club Cup after defeating the top seeded Cercle d’Echecs de Monte-Carlo in the last round. The match finished with 2.5-1.5 result, as three games concluded in a draw, and IM Olga Badelka (2430, TAJFUN SK Ljubljana) prevailed against IM Sarasadat Khademalsharieh (2478, Cercle d’Echecs de Monte-Carlo). Scoring 13 match points, TAJFUN SK Ljubljana was one match point ahead of the runner-ups.

Vados Chess Club from Arad (Romania), who has just won the 3rd place at the European Club Cup in Serbia, despite starting as a 13th seed in a field of 84 squads. They were the true underdog success story at the European Chess Club Cup.
