The SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia is the 3rd stage on the 2023 Grand Chess Tour, a series of five events with a total prize fund of $1.4 million. The 10-player event features world no. 1 Magnus Carlsen, and is taking place in Zagreb from July 5-9, 2023. The rapid is a 10-player single round-robin with 3 rounds each day on the first 3 days at a time control of 25 minutes for all moves and a 10-second increment from move 1. The final 2 days are a blitz double round-robin, with 18 rounds of 5+2 blitz.

The 65+ Senior Championship Saxony-Anhalt 2023 is a 7-round Swiss tournament taking place from 3–9 July 2023 in Magdeburg, Germany. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. The top five rated players are Gerhard, Dr. Koehler, Bernard Leiber, Knut Andersen, Wilfried Glaeser and Iziaslav, Dr. Leibovitch.

Players receive 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. It is a 4-player double round-robin tournament with participation of Eline Roebers, Robin Duson, Arlette Van Weersel and Anna-Maja Kazarian.

The 2023 Dutch Championship is a 13-player knockout taking place in Utrecht from July 2-9. The Dutch no. 1 Anish Giri as well as Jorden van Foreest and Erwin l’Ami get a bye through to Round 2. Each match consists of two classical games, with 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. If the score is 1:1, blitz tiebreaks will be played. 

The 2023 FIDE Women’s World Championship is a 12-game match between defending champion Ju Wenjun and her Chinese compatriot Lei Tingjie. The match runs July 5-23, with the first 6 games in Ju Wenjun’s home city of Shanghai and the rest of the match in Lei Tingjie’s Chongqing. The first player to 6.5 points wins the match, while a 6:6 tie will be settled by tiebreaks. The prize fund is €500,000, split 60:40 in favour of the winner, or 55:45 if tiebreaks are needed.
