Tata Steel Chess 2023 officially opened

After the gong strike by the King’s Commissioner of the Province of North Holland Arthur van Dijk, the 85th edition of the TataSteel Chess Tournament has officially begun yesterday event. Until Sunday, January 29, Wijk aan Zee will again be the worldwide center of chess.

Tata Steel Challengers 2023 – LIVE

The Tata Steel Challengers 2023 will be held simultaneously with Tata Steel Chess Masters 2023 in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands. The event will take place from 13-29 February and it will be played in 13 round-robin rounds. The field consists of a mix of established players and promising young talents and the winner of the event will earn a starting ticket for the Masters of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in 2024.

Pranesh M leads the FIDE Circuit race

IM Pranesh M is the early leader of the FIDE Circuit. The 16-year old from India emerged as the winner of the 2022/2023 Rilton Cup and picked up 6.8 circuit points to grab the top position in the leaderboard.

More than 190 players already registered for European Individual Chess Championship 2023

The European Individual Chess Championship 2023 is organised by Serbian Chess Federation under the auspices of European Chess Union will take place from 2nd – 14th March 2023 in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia. The championship will be played in 11 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.

The event will take place from 13-29 February and it will be played in 13 round-robin rounds. The field consists of a mix of established players and promising young talents and the winner of the event will earn a starting ticket for the Masters of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in 2024.

The 78th Armenian Women’s Championship Highest League is taking place from 13–21 January 2023 in Yerevan, Armenia. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

83rd Armenian Championship Highest League 2023 – LIVE

The 83rd Armenian Championship Highest League is taking place from 13–21 January 2023 in Yerevan, Armenia. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. It is an 10-player round-robin tournament with participation of Manuel Petrosyan, Aram Hakobyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Zaven Andriasian, Tigran L. Petrosian, Tigran K. Harutyunyan, Mamikon  Gharibyan, Amen Ar. Barseghyan and Sargis Vach.

Azerbaijan Championship 2023 – LIVE

The Azerbaijan Championship will be held in Baku from 13 to 26 January 2022. Players receive 90 minutes for the first 40 moves and then 30 minutes until the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. The championship will be held in two stages. At the first stage, participants compete in a 9-round Swiss system. The top 4 advance to the knockout stage where each match consists of 2 games.

20th Delhi International Open postponed

The 20th edition of the Delhi International Open has been postponed due to the spread of Covid19 virus in India. The event will likely be conducted in March 2023 instead of the initially announced dates in January 2023.
