Bibisara Assaubayeva emerged as the Winner of the 2022 FIDE World Women’s Blitz Chess Championship in her homeland, Kazakhstan. Assaubayeva defended her 2021 Blitz Champion title. “I am very happy to win and defend my title. And I am especially happy to do it in Kazahstan, my homeland“, said Assaubayeva at the press conference.

The 2022 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships take place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) between Sunday, the 25th of December and run through until Friday, the 30th of December.

Hikaru Nakamura is a point ahead of everyone else after the first day of the blitz in the Open tournament. In the Women’s event, Polina Shuvalova and Valentina Gunina are tied for first place.

The World Blitz Chess Championship got underway today in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with the sound of chess clocks ticking quickly throughout the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace. There are 174 players in the Open tournament and 98 in the Women’s section, totalling 272 participants from more than 50 countries.

The 2022 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships take place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) between Sunday, the 25th of December and run through until Friday, the 30th of December.

The German Team Club Championship U12 is taking place from 27-30 December 2022 in Munich. Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

The 2022 FIDE Women’s World Rapid Chess Championship concluded today in Almaty, Kazakhstan after three days of fights over 11 rounds. It was a spectacular finish of with the playoff determining the gold medalist in the event as Dinara Saduakassova and Tan Zhongyi tied for the top with 8.5 points, each. Tan Zhongyi won the playoffs clinching the Women’s World Rapid Champion title.
