The final tournament of the Tatarstan Chess Federation Cup took place on May 14-15 at the Nezhmetdinov Chess Club in Kazan.

16 players competed in mixed format. First, two groups with eight players were held. Top four players from each proceeded to the knock-out section.

24th New York State Open

The 24th Annual New York State Open will be held from May 20-22, 2016, at the Tiki Resort, 2 Canada St., Lake George, New York.

The event has 4 sections: Open, Senior, Under 1610 and Under 1210. Each section has either a 3-day schedule (May 20-22) or 2-day schedule (May 21-22) to participate in.

The tournament format is 5-round Swiss, 40/100, SD/30, d10 (2-day option, rds 1-2 G/60, d10).

The event has a $3,000 prize fund, unconditionally guaranteed.
