HZ Chess Tournament 2015

The 19th Hogeschool Zeeland Tournament is taking place from August 1-8, at the University of Applied Sciences in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

The 9-round Swiss Open is organized by Stichting Schaak Walcheren. The FIDE Laws will apply, except article 6.6a. Top prizes are EUR 2000 / 1300 / 800 / 500 / 400.

242 players from 15 federations are registered to take participation. Among them are 11 Grandmasters and 12 International Masters. List below.

Youth tournament “Jednaki u svemu” in Niš

Youth chess tournament “Jednaki u svemu” was held from 27-29th July at the Hotel Zeleni Vir in Niš, Serbia.

40 kids competed in 7-round tournament with the standard time control. Tijana Petrovic from Požarevac is the overall winner with 6,5/7 points.

Winner of all age groups are awarded with trophies and medals. Standings below.

2015 Asian Continental Chess LIVE!

The UAE Chess Federation and Al Ain Chess Club on behalf of Asian Chess Federation and FIDE, invite Federations to participate in the Asian Continental Chess Championships (Open and Women’s) from 1-13 August 2015 at the Hilton Hotel in Al Ain, UAE.

Each Federation from FIDE Zones 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7 can enter one official player in the Open and one official player in the Women’s Division.

Asian Junior & Girls Under-20 Chess Championships 2015

On behalf of the Asian Chess Federation and FIDE, the Kyrgyz Chess Federation has the honor to invite all Asian National Chess Federations affiliated to FIDE to participate in the 2015 Asian Junior Chess Championships under 20 from 2nd (arrival) to 12th October (departure) 2015 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The Championships will be played according to the Swiss System of 9 Rounds. Time control is 90 minutes for the whole game with 30 second increments per move from move 1.

GM Fernando Peralta wins rapid tournament in Olot

The 16th Obert d’Escacs Ciutat d’Olot was held on 26th July at the Casino Olotí in Olot, Spain.

The 9-round Swiss event with the time control 15′+5” was organized by the Club d’Escacs Olot and gathered 90 participants.

Grandmaster Fernando Peralta from Argentina emerged clear winner with 8,0/9 points to claim the top prize of 400 EUR.

Open International de Martigny 2015

The 24th Open International de Martigny is taking place from 31st July to 3rd August at the Hotel Vatel in Martigny, Switzerland.

The tournament is organized by the Cercle de l’Echiquier de Martigny and supported by Commune de Martigny, Etat du Valais, Fonds du sport and Hôtel Vatel Martigny.

The playing format is 7-round Swiss with the time control 90′+30”. The top prizes are CHF 1500, 1000, 800, 600, 400.
