Dutch Open Chess Championship 2014 LIVE!

The 2014 Dutch Open Chess Championship is taking place on 21-31st July 2014 at the Sports Hall at Grand Café-theater halls center Theo Thorne in the Netherlands.

The event is a 9-round Swiss, open to players rated more than 2100. Top prizes are 2.500 €/ 1.750 €/ 1.000 €.

The preliminary list of players includes 61 players from 11 different countries, 9 of which are Grandmasters.

Top seed is GM Erwin L’Ami.

Politiken Cup LIVE!

The 2014 Politiken Cup is taking place on 21-29th July 2014 in Copenhagen, the capital and most populous city in Denmark.

The event is a 10-round FIDE Swiss Tournament, open to all players and it’s going to be a nice preparation just before the Chess Olympiad 2014 in Tromso, Norway.

The tournament gathers 313 players from 25 different countries, including 24 GMs, 11 IMs, 3 WGMs and 4 WIMs.

Tikhookeansky Meridian in Vladivostok

The Tikhookeansky Meridian was held on 18-20th July at the DVFU campus in Vladivostok.

The 11-round rapid chess tournament was a stage in the circuit Rapid Cup of Russia. 65 players competed.

The total prize fund was 450,000 RUB (approx 9500 EUR), with 2100 EUR reserved for the winner.

7th Paleochora Chess Tournament 2014 LIVE!

The 7th International Chess Tournament of Paleochora is taking place on 21-28th July 2014 at the Municipality of Kandanos – Selino Community Centre in the Cretan town of Paleochora, Greece.

The event will be a 9-round Swiss Open, valid for FIDE rating and title norms.

Top seed is Bulgarian GM Alexander Delchev, while the first prize is 1.800 €.
