The Amsterdam Chess Open 2024 is scheduled from November 1 to November 3. The tournament features nearly 500 competitors divided into 4 groups, A through D. All of them will compete in 6 rounds Swiss.

Group A consists of 117 players. The top contenders in the group include Erik van den Doel, Robert Ris , Sharan Rao, Rick Lahaye and Arystan Isanzhulov. The list of participants for this group is available below.

Luis Emmanuel Rubiano Peralta is the winner in the Juegos Intercolegiados Distritales Bogota 2024, an interschool chess competition in Colombia. Peralta achieved a perfect 6 points in as many rounds, the same as second place Ian Samuel Beltran Serna, the two separated by tiebreakers alone. The Dov Porat Memorial 2024 Blitz is happening on November 1 in Israel. The tournament now features more than 80 players, several times more than shown in our preview, who will compete in 11 rounds Swiss. The top players at the event include Yahli Sokolovsky, Ilia Smirin, Ido Gorstein, Dan Zoler, Yannai Ben Ari and Konstantin Mesporov. The full list of participants is available below.

Perla de la Frontera or Frontier Pearl in Mexico has concluded and victory is in the hands of Jose Fernando Cuenca Jimenez. Jimenez scored a near perfect 6.5 points in 7 rounds, yet he was closely followed byIsaac Antonio Garcia Guerrero and Miguel Tadeo Palma Villanueva at second and third place respecitively. Sion Radamantys Galaviz Medina and Joshua Ad Avila Rodriguez are also with 6 points each, but inferior tiebreakers. The final standings in the tournament Perla de la Frontera are available below.

The first edition of the Chess Festival “Citta dell’Olio” or “City of Olive Oil” in Trevi, Italy is taking place from October 31 to November 3. The tournament’s group A has 12 participants who will play in 5 rounds of Swiss. The top contenders include Ilia Martinovici, Elia Bergamaschi and Stefano Giampieri. The team Aquaréna Kőbánya SC I. emerge as the winners of the Hungarian Child Team Championships 2024. The 5 person team – Oliver Hangay, Abel Inti Minga-Nagy, Luomeng Wang, Adel Horvath and Zsombor Hegedus – accumulated a total of 25 points in 7 rounds of play. Team Géniusz SE claim the title at the Hungarian Youth Team Chess Championship 2024. With a score of 29 points in 7 rounds of play, the team of 8 – Balazs Pasztor, Tran Nam Giang, Gabor Szabo-Toth, Daniel Sinoros-Szabo, Reka Kovacs, Mark Vancsisin and David Meszaros-Csonka – scored more than team Aquaréna Kőbánya SC who accrued 28 points for second place and team MTK I., who came in third with a total of 26.5 points. At the conclusion of the Campeonato Centroamericano y del Caribe Chess 2024 Absoluto, it was IM Carlos A. Juarez Flores who emerged victorious. He achieved 8 points in 9 rounds of play, ahead of second place Edgardo J. Almedina Ortiz with 7 points and third place Jorge Luis Sanchez Manzanares. The top performing woman in the competition was Dalila Yamileth Barahona who scored 5.5 points for a 1th place finish.

IM Lucas Coro is the winner in the XXXI International Chess Open ProAm Copa Clarin 2024. He achieved a total of 7 points in 9 rounds. Pablo Ismael Acosta, Federico Perez Ponsa and Leonardo Tristan claimed the second, third and fourth place, respectively, also accruing 7 points, separated only by tiebreakers. The Trofeo Cigüeña de Plata or Alfaro Chess Open 2024 Silver Stork Trophy is scheduled from October 31 to November 3 in the city of Alfaro, La Rioja, Spain. The tournament features 127 players who compete in 7 rounds Swiss. The top players at the event include David Larino Nieto, Ibragim S.
