The 9th edition of the Floripa Ches Open is taking place from 23-29 January in Florianopolis, Brasil. The event is played in 10 rounds, swiss system, with a total prize fund of 40.000R$. More than 550 players participate in the festival and the Open tournament is a part of the FIDE Circuit – the new Qualification system for the FIDE Candidates Tournament.

Nodirbek Abdusattorov remained in the sole lead at the Tata Steel Masters 2023 after seven played rounds. He is a full point ahead of Anish Giri, Fabiano Caruana, Praggnanandhaa and Wesley So.

After 7 played rounds at the Tata Steel Challengers 2023, Alexander Donchenko emerged as the sole leader of the event with 5.5 points. Javokhir Sindarov follows with 5 points, while three players tie for third with 4.5 points, each: Mustafa Yilmaz, Velimir Ivic, and Thomas Beerdse.

The 85th edition of the Tata Steel Chess Masters is taking place from 13-29 January in Wijk aan Zee. The event features 14 grandmasters competing in a 13-round round-robin tournament.

18-year-old Nodirbek Abdusattorov kept the sole lead at the Tata Steel Masters 2023 after seven played rounds.

Alexander Donchenko emerged as the sole leader of the Tata Steel Challengers 2023 after defeating Mustafa Yilmaz, his co-leader from the previous round. It was a round with lots of victories, and only one game finished in a draw.

Donchenko had a better position from the opening but the Turkish Champion made a huge mistake with 35…Qf6 and resigned after only 20 minutes and 12 moves of play.

18-year-old Uzbekistani grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov remains the sole leader of the 2023 Tata Steel Masters after six played rounds. Abdusattorov today drew his game against Praggnanandhaa having White pieces.

The sixth round of the Tata Steel Challengers 2023 was played today in Wijk aan Zee. Three games finished with the decisive results, with Alexander Donchenko defeating Eline Roebers to join Turkish Champion Mustafa Yilmaz in the lead of the event.
