4th Central Asia Chess Cup

The 4th Central Asia Chess Cup of the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is scheduled to take place from 21-29th November at the Grand Hotel Tien Shan in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The tournament is organized by the Kazakhstan Chess Federation and FIDE.

The 4th Central Asia Chess Cup of the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is scheduled to take place from 21-29th November at the Grand Hotel Tien Shan in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The tournament is organized by the Kazakhstan Chess Federation and FIDE in a 9 round Swiss FIDE format.

73 players from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan compete for the prize fund of 25 000 USD.

Top seed is Kazakhstan player GM Rinat Jumabayev (2599).

India Women’s Chess Championship – Varshini Holds Pratyusha In Round 4

Bodda Pratyusha’s winning spree was halted by V Varshini in the fourth round of the Ramratna National Women’s Chess Championship that is taking place at Kolkata.

Varshini went for a big king side offensive against Pratyusha’s Sicilian defence. Pratyusha won three pieces for the queen. Varshini repeated the position with her queen and drew in 52 moves.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Barnaul, Russia – Results

From 2 to 6 November 2015 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Barnaul, Russia, by the Russian Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The Lecturer was IA Alexander Shaab (RUS), FIDE Lecturer, and Assistant Lecturer was FA Nadezhda Zykina (RUS).

The language of the Seminar was Russian.

Thirteen (13) National arbiters from Russia participated in the Seminar and eight (8) of them took part in the examination test that was held after the lectures.
