British Knockout Championship at the 7th London Chess Classic Festival

A new high-level event is joining the extensive list of tournaments that make up the 7th London Chess Classic Festival: Eight of Britain’s best chess players, with the exception of Michael Adams, who plays in the Classic itself, will contest the inaugural British Knockout Championship.

Pavlodar Open 2015

The 10th Pavlodar International Open will take place from 6-16th December at the Estaya St. 83 in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan.

The tournament is organized by the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, Management of physical training and sports of the Pavlodar area, and Pavlodar Chess Federation.

The playing format is 10-round Swiss and the tournament will be valid for FIDE rating and norms.

Tournament director is GM Kotsur Pavel. The prize fund is 10200 $, with the first prize being 2000 $.

53rd India National Premier Chess Championship – Round 9

Vidit Santosh Gujrathi of PSPB maintained his unbeaten record and a lead by full point, defeating the second placed P. Karthikeyan of Railways in the ninth round of the ONGC 53rd National Premier Chess Championship, organised by Tiruvarur District Chess Association, today.

Karthikeyan Murali of Tamil Nadu moved ahead of Karthikeyan to second place with six points, winning over his team mate P. Shyaam Nikhil.
