Official FIDE logoFrom 11 to 13 November 2014 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in New Delhi, India, by the Delhi Chess Association, in cooperation with the All India Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

Zadar Open 2014

Zadar Chess Union is holding the 2014 Zadar Open from 14-20th December at the Falkensteiner Hotels & Resorts Borik in Zadar, Croatia.

The event consists of two sections, Group A for players rated above 2200 FIDE and Group B for U2300 players. Both sections will be completed over nine rounds of Swiss system.

Top prizes in Group A are EUR 2200 / 1400 / 900 / 700 / 600 / 500 etc

The best placed Croatian player qualifies for the national championship.

17th Chess Festival “Citta di Padova” 2014 LIVE!

The 17th International Chess Festival “Citta di Padova” is taking place on 14-21st December 2014 in Padova, Italy.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament open to all players rated above 1800 FIDE Elo.

The gold went to Russia after Alexander Grischuk and Valentina Gunina emerged clear winners.

Grischuk finished first with 5/7 points, leaving the nearest followers Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Hao Wang, Levon Aronian and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov half point behind.
