UK Open Blitz Chess Championship 2025

The 2025 UK Open Blitz Championship features an expanded format, with 16 qualifiers in 14 cities around the United Kingdom, with the winner of each qualifying for the Final. The total prize fund for the event is in excess of £10,000.

The first ever Ding on “Ding Ding” Chess on the Tram Event happened in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong’s century-old Ding Ding trams became the stage for a truly historic event—the “Ding on Ding Ding” simultaneous chess match organized by the Caissa Hong Kong Chess Club. This one-of-a-kind initiative brought together former World Chess Champion Ding Liren and the city’s beloved tram culture, transforming a moving tram into a dynamic chess arena.

Lebanese Individual Chess Championship

The 50th edition of Lebanese Individual Chess Championship is taking place June 21 – July 1 in Keshmat, Lebanon. The Keshmat Chess Club will be the venue, which has operated the Lebanese Chess Championship for the past 4 years. Top players are Joe Assaad, Michel Adeimi, Adib Arkadan, Akram Khoder, Ahmad Najjar, etc.

Sheki Open is a chess tournament taking place June 19 – June 25 in Azerbaijan.

Malaysian Chess Masters

Malaysian Chess Masters is taking place June 18 – June 22 in Kuala Lumpur. The tournament has an open and women sections. Following the public statement issued by the Saint Louis Chess Club (STLCC) in October 2023, and after our own independent investigation, Lichess has decided to lift our boycott on STLCC.

European Youth Team Chess Championship 2025 U18 participants

The European Youth Team Chess Championship 2025 will take place from 4th July to 12th July in Terme Čatež, Slovenia. The event will include four separate competitions, an open competition and a girl’s competition in both age categories U12 and U18. Each national federation member of the European Chess Union (ECU) has the right to enter up to four (4) teams of four (4) players and one (1) reserve in the open competitions and up to four (4) teams of two (2) female players and one (1) reserve in the girl competitions.
