FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Kathmandu, Nepal

From 17 to 19 April 2018 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Kathmandu, Nepal by the Nepal Chess Association in cooperation with the Asian Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Golden Gate College.

The Lecturer of the Seminar was IA Casto Abundo (PHI), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Khaiju Gyanendra (NEP). The lectures were in English language.

The 2018 FIDE World School Chess Championships are being held from 21-29th April at Hotel Fafa in Durres, Albania.

A total of 387 participants from 40 federations are taking part in the event throughout twelve age categories from U7 to U17, boys and girls.

BangkokThe 18th Bangkok Chess Club Open was held in the Regent Cha-am Beach Resort from 13-21 April 2018. In total almost 350 players took part, with around 240 playing in the main 9-round open.

2018 U.S.ChampionshipThe second round of the 2018 U.S. Championships was as promising as the first. With plenty of exciting matches on the horizon, the chess fans gathered to see the players at work; they weren’t disappointed, as we once again got a combative round in the books.

2nd World Junior Chess Championship for the Disabled

The 2nd World Junior Chess Championship for the Disabled will be held at the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA from August 8-12, 2018.

The event is organized under the auspices of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), US Chess and the New Jersey Chess Federation. The main sponsors are the US Chess Trust, KIND and other individual donors and supporters.
