hollandOn Thursday, May 10, the Dutch Team Cup finals will take place in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.

Format:
Four teams have qualified for the semi finals: LSG, Voerendaal, MuConsult Apeldoorn and Lonneker. The winners of the semi finals will play the finals. The losers of the semi finals will play for the 3rd-4th place.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov approved as RCF candidate for the FIDE elections

The supervisory board of the Russian Chess Federation approved Kirsan Ilyumzhinov as candidate of the RCF for the upcoming FIDE elections on October 3rd in Batumi. The meeting took place in Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina, Sochi. The RCF official website report states,

Open Internacional Queima das Fitas 2018

The Open Internacional da Queima das Fitas 2018 was held from 27th April to 1st May at D.Luís Hotel in Coimbra, Portugal.

The event is included in “Circuito Nacional de Clássicas” of Portuguesse Chess Federation and was organized by Associação Académica de Coimbra (Chess Club) with the support of the Portuguese Chess Federation (FPX), Coimbra District Chess Association (AXDC), Queima das Fitas Organizing Committee and D. Luís Hotel.

Japan Chess National Championship 2018

Japan championshipJapan Chess National Championship was held from 29 April to 5 May in Tokyo.
45 players took part in the event.

International Open Tournament Pula 2018

The 32nd International Open Tournament Pula 2018 will take place 23-30th June at the Hotel Park Plaza Histria in Pula, Croatia.

The 9-round Swiss event is organized by the Chess Club Pula and Croatian Chess Federation. The total prize fund is 5340 EUR.

At the present 109 players from 16 countries are registered to take part in the event. Among them are 4 Grandmasters and 6 International Masters.
