Poikovsky Chess 2015 LIVE!

The Poikovsky Karpov Chess Tournament 2015, named after the former world champion Anatoly Karpov, is going to take place from 27th September to 8th October. Chessdom will cover the live games with computer analysis by the TCEC medalist engines Komodo, Stockfish, and Houdini.

It will be the 16th edition of the event, which once again will be a strong 10-player round robin tournament.

Open Tatry 2015 LIVE

Open Tatry 2015 is taking place from September 26 to October 3, 2015, in Strbske Pleso, a resort in the High Tatras, Slovakia.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 90′/40 moves + 15′ + 30″.

IM Tomas Krnan (2440) from Canada heads the field of 219 players from 11 different federations.

Lev Gutman 70 GM Tournament LIVE!

The 70th birthday of GM Lev Gutman is celebrated with a GM tournament, held from September 21-30, 2015, in Lingen Germany.

The event is a 10-player round-robin tournament with tempo of play 90′/40 moves + 30′ + 30″.

September Lviv Tradition 2015 LIVE!

The September Lviv Tradition (IM Group) round-robin tournament is taking place from September 28 to October 4, 2015, at the Hotel Nton, in the splendid city of Lviv, situated in western Ukraine.

The event is a 12-player single round-robin tournament with an average Elo 2257, valid for FIDE rating and norms. The tempo of play is 90′ + 30″.

Jahongir Vakhidov winner of IGB Malaysian Open 2015

The Malaysian Chess Festival held at Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur from 18-28 September 2015 has now come to an end with the conclusion of the concurrently played IGB Malaysian International Open Chess Championship, KLK Tan Sri Lee Loy Seng Seniors Open Chess Championship, and the Malaysian Chess Challenge.

The Semifinals of the 2015 FIDE World Chess Cup started today at the Fairmont Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, with four players that remained in the competition.

GM Sergey Volkov wins Beirut International Open 2015

Russian Grandmaster Sergey Volkov emerged clear winner of the 8th Beirut International Open 2015 after concluding the race with 8,0/9 points, half a point ahead of GM Kirill Stupak from Belarus.

The Beirut International Open was held from 19-27th September with 88 players from 14 countries. Among them were nine Grandmasters.

The total prize fund was 7000 USD with 2000 USD reserved for the winner.

GM Alberto David winner of rapid tournament in Schifflange, Luxembourg

The Smashing Pawns organized a rapid chess tournament on 20th September in Schifflange, Luxembourg.

The tournament consisted of 104 players coming from 11 federations which is a great representation. The playing format was 9-round Swiss with the time control 15′+5”. The event is rated with FIDE.

GM Alberto David, formerly of Luxembourg and now representing Italy, emerged clear winner with 8,0/9 points to claim the top prize of 1000 EUR.
