The 34th Zalakaros Chess Festival is taking place from 14-22nd May, 2015, in Zalakaros, a town in Hungary, famous for its thermal bath.

The event is organized by the Hungarian Chess Federation and Zalakaros city, under the patronage of Dr. Miklós Seszták, President of the Hungarian Chess Federation, and Mr. Ferenc Novák, Mayor of Zalakaros.

The main tournament is a 9-round Swiss FIDE open for players rated over 2300. The tempo of play is 90′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 7 to 11 October 2015 in Agadir, Morocco, by the Moroccan Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized in Muscat, Oman, from 20 to 24 May 2015, by the Oman Chess Committee and under the auspices of FIDE.

The 2015 edition of Deltalift Open is taking place on 14-16th May, 2015, in Tylosand, a locality situated in Halmstad Municipality, Halland County, Sweden.

The event is an 8-round Swiss FIDE tournament with the participation of 190 players from 7 different countries, including 8 GMs.

The strongest Icelandic Chess Championship in history is taking place from 14-24th May, 2015, in Reykjavik (Harpa) Iceland.

8 GMs and 7 former previous winners of the Championship will be vying in a 12-player round-robin tournament with an average Elo rating of 2461 and tempo of play 90′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″.

The 10th American Continental Chess Championship is taking place from 15-24th May, 2015, in the Telecommunications Tower (ANTEL Tower), in Montevideo, the capital and largest city of Uruguay.

The event is organized by the Uruguay Chess Federation (FUA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Montevideo Municipality and ANTEL Telecommunications company.

The 10th American Continental Chess Championship is scheduled to take place from 15-24th May, 2015, in Montevideo, the capital and largest city of Uruguay.
