The 2015 Azerbaijan Chess Championship for men is taking place from 6-15th January.

The tournament format is 9-round Swiss with 22 participants. There are 8 Grandmasters and 7 International Masters in the field.

Round 1 results:

The 12th International Chess Festival “Aeroflot Open 2015″ will be held in Moscow from 28 March (the date of arrival) to 08 April 2015 (the date of departure).

This major event is open to chess players of most varied qualification: from unrated to world’s top. As before, the festival is held “under the wings” of the Russian leading air company “Aeroflot – Russian airlines”.

The Stockholm Chess Federation organized the 44th Rilton Cup from 27th December 2014 to 5th January 2015 at the Clarion Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden.

The tournament was played in four groups: Rilton Cup, Rilton Elo, Rilton 1800 and Rilton 1600. All sections are FIDE rated.

The tournament format was 7-round Swiss in five sections: Open (FIDE rated), U2200, U1900, U1600 and U1300.

The 131st MGU Open 2015 is scheduled to take place on 10-11th January, 2015, at Chess Club MGU, in Sofia, capital and largest city of Bulgaria.

Top seed Grandmaster Popov Ivan (Russia) stopped tournament leader Swapnil Dhopade (India) and moved into shared lead at 6.5 points after the eighth round of the 7th Chennai International Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament at Nehru Stadium, Chennai here today.
