14th Prague Open 2015 LIVE!

The 14th International Chess Festival Prague Open 2015 is taking place on 9-16th January 2015 in Prague, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic.

The event is organized by AVE-KONTAKT s.r.o. as a part of the Czech Tour 2014/2015 Series and will take place at the Olympik Hotel ****, Sokolovska 138, Praha 8.

The tournament format is 9-round Swiss FIDE, valid for international rating and norms.

Tamas Banusz wins Winter Sea Deluxe Open in Gabicce Mare

The 3rd Winter Sea Deluxe Open took place from 2-6th January, 2015, in Gabicce Mare, Italy, next to the Adriatic Sea.

Hungarian Grandmaster Tamas Banusz emerged victorious in the tournament after concluding the race with 7,0/9 points.

Zhao Jun convincing in Hastings Masters

The 90th Hastings International Chess Congress took place from 29th December 2014 to 6th January 2015 in Hastings, England. The main event was the 9-round Hastings Masters with 106 participants.

Chinese Grandmaster Zhao Jun convincingly won the trophy and £2000 top prize by scoring 8,0/9 points and leaving the nearest followers a full point behind. Zhao Jun had a TPR of 2852 and earned 26 elo points.

Clash of dates for the US Chess Championship and the College Chess Final Four

Ivan Popov wins 7th Chennai International Open title

Top seed Grandmaster Ivan Popov of Russia with 7.5 points and a superior tie-break clinched the title in the 7th Chennai International Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament at Nehru Stadium, Chennai on 6th Jan, 2015.

For the first time in the history of Chennai Open, there was an eight way tie.

2015 Azerbaijan Individual Chess Championship LIVE!

The 2015 Azerbaijan Chess Championship for men is taking place from 6-15th January.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with 22 participants.

There are 8 Grandmasters and 7 International Masters in the field. Top seed is GM Rauf Mamedov (2642).
