The 14th International Chess Festival Prague Open 2015 is taking place on 9-16th January 2015 in Prague, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic.

The event is organized by AVE-KONTAKT s.r.o. as a part of the Czech Tour 2014/2015 Series and will take place at the Olympik Hotel ****, Sokolovska 138, Praha 8.

The tournament format is 9-round Swiss FIDE, valid for international rating and norms.

In this day and age, playing in long lasting tournaments is quite hard for chess enthusiasts. Routine working obligations rarely give them permission to take part in tournaments, even if they really look forward to participating. Even chess trainers or instructors usually cannot play, because of their training duties. Therefore, most of them play online, and follow their favorite players’ performances at the top tournaments to fulfill their enjoyment.
