13th Parsvnath International Chess Festival

headerThe 13th Parsvnath International Chess Festival is taking place on 9-16th January 2015 in the Ludlow Castle Sports Complex, New Delhi, India.

World Chess Cup 2015

FIDEThe Chess World Cup 2015 will be played in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 10 September to 4 October 2015. It will be a 128-player knockout chess tournament. The finalists will qualify for the 2016 Candidates Tournament.

IM Vadim Moiseenko tops Christmas Blitz Tournament 2015

The Chrstmas Blitz Tournament 2015 took place on 7th January 2015 in Saint Petersburg, the second largest city of Russia.

The 11-round Blitz tournament with time control 5” gathered 80 players, including 3 GMs, 7 IMs, 3 FMs and 1 WFM.

IM Vadim Moiseenko and IM Egor Pakhomov shared first with 9/11 points, but Moiseenko prevailed on a better tie-break score and took the gold.

GM Maxim Novik finished clear third with 8,5 points. You can see the full standings below.

Qatar Masters Open on DD TV

India’s biggest television network Doordarshan will telecast four exclusive Highlights of the Qatar Masters Open 2014 on its DD Sports Channel from 11-14th January, 2015.

Filmed and Produced by Vijay Kumar the 30 minutes highlights of each episode will be telecast as under:

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Colombo, Sri Lanka

From 26 to 28 November 2014 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Colombo, Sri Lanka by the Sri Lanka Chess Federation in cooperation with the Commission for Women’s Chess and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue was the Royal College in Colombo.

The Lecturer was IA Franca Dapiran (ITA), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Luxman Wijesuriya (SRL).

The lectures were in English language.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Eybens, France

On 20 and 21 December 2014 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Eybens, France, by the French Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Maison des associations – 8 rue Jean Macé 38320, in Eybens.

The lecturer was IA Stephen Boyd (FRA), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Laurent Freyd (FRA). The lectures were in French language.
