Women’s Candidates Pool B opened in Khiva

A long-awaited second pool of the FIDE Women’s Candidates has finally started in Uzbekistan, in the beautiful oasis city of Khiva. In the next two weeks, the chess world will follow exciting chess battles of leading world female players fighting for the second spot in the big final.

The 2022 National Chess Championship of Kazakhstan will take place from 1st – 12th December in Semey at the Cultural and sports complex “Abay Arena”. The event features 14 players who will compete for the title of the National champion in 13 rounds (round-robin system). FIDE Women’s World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship 2022 – LIVE

The FIDE Women’s World Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship 2022 will take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from December 25-31 at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace, concurrently with FIDE Open World Rapid and Blitz Championships.

Diego Zilleruelo wins NC Open Championship 2022

The 2022 NC Open was held over Thanksgiving Weekend from 25-27 November 2022 in Charlotte, NC, USA. The NCO featured a $11,000 prize fund and was played in 8 US Chess rated sections: Championship (1900+), U1900, U1700, U1500, U1300 and U1100. The event was running alongside the 2022 US Masters, a national event that featured the top players in the Americas. 

GM Christopher Yoo wins US Masters Chess Championship 2022

The 2022 US Masters took place over the Thanksgiving Weekend from November 23-27 at Hilton Charlotte University Place, in Charlotte, NC, USA. The US Masters Chess Championship is an official US Chess National Championship event which featured a 20.000$ prize fund and it was played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with time control is 90 minutes for the entire game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

GM Mihail Nikitenko wins CFSL Golden Jubilee Open Chess Championship 2022

Sri Lanka’s Chess Federation Golden Jubilee Open Chess Championship 2022 took place from 23-27 November at Sports Ministry Pavilion, Colombo. The event attracted 37 entries among whom 13 titled players. The tournament was played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment. The total prize fund of the event was Rs 3.650.000 (~10.000$).
