Boris Gelfand and Fabiano Caruana finished joint winners of the Grand Prix in Baku after drawing their respective games in the final round.

This year’s Chess Festival was organized by the greatest woman chess player of all time Judit Polgar. The festival offered a full day family programme in the Budapest Palace of Arts.

Children had a chance to enjoy the Diverse Arts & Crafts activities in the spirit of chess. The activities were organized in co-operation with CeramiCafe, Happy Kids International Kindergarten, PlayMais and Poli-Farbe.

Fabiano Caruana and Boris Gelfand moved into joint lead after defeating Leinier Dominguez and Teimour Radjabov, respectively, in the penultimate round of the FIDE Grand Prix in Baku.

The World Junior Chess Championships 2014 (for boys & girls under 20) are being held in Pune, India, from 6th to 19th October 2014.

The Championship is organized and conducted by Maharashtra Chess Association under the auspices of AICF and FIDE.

The Gelendzhik chess festival will take place 3-13 January 2015 in Russia. The festival is organized by FM Salim Fazulyanov and includes a FIDE rated open tournament, a GM training camp with lecturers GM Boris Savchenko and GM Farukh Amonatov, a blitz tournament, puzzle solving competition, and multiple side events.

The Masters Section of the annual Unive Hoogeveen Chess Festival is taking place on 11-18th October 2014 in Hoogeveen, in the Netherlands.
